My 4th year at Burning Man, I camped with a lovely group of people at the 7 Sirens Cove. They had a couple hand painted canvas signs. Determined to make myself useful, I volunteered to build a more durable, more “official” sign.
This one was CNCed from two sheets of 3/4” ply, held together by 1/4” bolts and nuts. The 7 Sirens is aptly named for their pirate theme - the stained wood and gold paint reflected the materials of a well tuned pirate ship, the holographic turquoise fabric represented the mermaid scales of a siren.
Design is much easier when you use a computer to do everything.
Materials: 3/4” stained plywood, 1/4” bolts and nuts, spray paint, conduit pole, holographic spandex.
I’ll try to add built in lighting next, if I ever get it back from storage!
